West aspect of Belukha (4506 m)

View from Dzhorashkol Lake Valley. The prominent pyramid in the center is the Main Summit of Belukha (4506 m), with its lower slopes partly obscured by the ridge of the West Summit (invisible to the tight). A lower summit further to the left, separated from West Belukha by a wide glacial saddle of West Belukha Plateau, is Peak XX Let Oktyabrya (4178 m). Photo taken on Day 8 of our March 1988 ski trip across Altay.
