I wasn't prepared for that much snow, but I persevered.

Fantastic Hike
Complete solitude - There was almost no one on the train when we made our trek up to Gibson Lake. The "Social Trail" is somewhat hard to find and the Divide gives the appearance that it is covered by snow, but you can skirt around this. It is somewhat steep to head up the grassy hills, but once you gain the Divide, the walk over to the Summit should be easy.

Nice hike up to the lake, but lots of rednecks (some with guns) near the campground.

Great outing
Unconsolidated snow on loose rock near bowl exit. Sheep carcass with a lot of coyote tracks in base of bowl with lots of howling coyotes out of sight. High winds on ridge and threatening clouds but no weather issues. No othe climbers all day. Snow began at about 11k feet.

Great Day
From Gibson Lake TH. Did UN12733 first, then over to Whale. Came down more direct route to lake. Recommend the UN12733 route over the direct route.

Nice Ridge Hike
Climbed onto the ridge just east of Lake Jefferson. Hit unnamed points 12088, 12567, and 12733 along the way. Great weather and views!

Crazy Trip
The wife, pup and I backpacked in to Gibson Lake for a quick overnighter. Long story short there is a wrecked Jeep in the valley below Bullion Benchmark. Pretty sad story how it got there, and made for an unfortunately memorable weekend. Other than that the trip was fun as we encountered a large group of mountain goats near the summit.
Whale, Glacier, Bullion and Sheep from the 4x4 road on north, then climbed 11195 and 10450 on the drive back out to town.
Second Time from Jefferson Lake with PT 12088 and PT 12567.

from Gibson Lake TH
Old Man Winter showed his face today! Blustery and cold - howling winds blowing snow around. It was a beautiful - if fierce - day. Once we left the trees the "autumn stroll" was over and the winter march began. Sen stepped his boot through some slush in a stream which must have been cold. I got blown over five different times gaining the ridge and/or on the ridge! We didn't linger long on this summit! Great views from the top, including Grays and Torreys.
