While i'm not really a lover of this specific technique, i think information and the possibility to learn are the most valuable things there are, so thank you PAROFES, as usual, for your contributions.
Evaluation of this cut out technique really involves a matter of personal taste. I tried it and found the result to be very stark. My preference would be to reduce the saturation of the background ( to varying degrees, depending on the picture) as opposed to making it black and white. Thanks for explaining this useful technique.
