Slow going on the traverse. Altitude was kicking my butt today I think.

From Wheeler to Jeff Davis
We started at the lake loop and bristlecone pine grove trailhead and worked our way to the ridge and on up to Wheeler. From there we made the awesome traverse over to Jeff Davis Peak and descended down a rock spine to the base of Jeff Davis and into the bristlecone forest. From there we caught the bristlecone and lake loop trail and on back to the trailhead. Made for an awesome loop hike. Great ridge traverse.
This was the third of three peaks this day, Bald, then Wheeler, and finally Jeff Davis. Hail and approaching thunderstorms drove us down earlier than we'd planned. Loose, blocky talus covers the slopes of Jeff Davis.

Traversed
Did the Traverse. Started on the Wheeler Peak trail at 8 and summitted Wheeler around 10ish. We went for the traverse, did the Needle and then did Jeff Davis. Weather started rolling in on us on Jeff Davis so we booked it down. Awesome view of Wheeler's incredible NE face! I would totally recommend it!
