When doing the Maroon Bells Traverse south-to-north try to stay on the ridge proper as much as possible and only drop down on the west side when necessary (July 16, 2005). We followed this group of climbers the whole way across the traverse and this is the only route finding mistake they made - they dropped down onto this ledge that cliffed out on the east side of the ridge. This photo was shot just a little north of the northern crux (i.e. almost to the summit of North Maroon).
