Picking through the huge boulders on the north face and the ridge was very memorable. Dunked ourselves in one of the little lakes above Red Pine and froze.
Route Climbed: Ascended from East, descended White Pine Date Climbed: July 27, 2004
Did this peak as part of the Bullion Divide Route. I started out at Sugarloaf, then did Mt Baldy, Hidden Pk, all 3 summits of the American Fork Twin Pks, Red Top, Red Baldy, and White Baldy. What a day! I much preferred the east ridge to the NW - it was a bitch coming down!
Climbed White Pine 2-3 times in the past 5 years. This is indeed a seldom visited summit in the Wasatch. Most people hike to White Pine Lake and stop there. Others hike to Red Pine en route to Pfeifferhorn. It is a great summit with excellent views of Pfeifferhorn and Mount Timp.
Route Climbed: Red Pine Date Climbed: August 24, 2002
Followed trail to Red Pine Lakes, then to basin above with upper Red Pine Lakes. Routefind up to northwest ridge. From here there was some challenging scrambling in spots, then a steep, rocky climb to the main summit area. Typically wonderful views. We descended the north face directly to the boulder-strewn upper Lakes meadow, not recommended! Getting out of the boulder field took a long time!
