Picturesque views of the Sierra
Third summit trip in as many years. Not difficult, but the views of the Sierra across the valley are unbelievable. I've heard the hike by full moon is fun - maybe next go 'round.

Dirt Road
Hiked up in the late afternoon from the locked gate, slept on top, and hiked out past all the WMRS open house visitors in the morning.

A repeat performance
A fun outing. Even got to balance a rock at the summit!
'Twas the 1 day in 2007 that the Barcroft research center was open to the public, and there was lots of traffic. The roadkill museum exhibit was an added plus!

Dirt Road
Nice AM. 1:57 up, 1:34 down. Nice little herd of sheep at about 13,200' Ten by my count. I was in an anti-social mood so skipped the big Sierra Challenge group fest on Rodgers today.

That view!
Got an early start so we could watch the sun rise over the Sierra
What an incredible view. A hundred miles of the Sierra crest on one side, the great basin and Nevada on the other.

Walk up
With Rene' Renteria. Only two other parties there - one party of professors from Victoria, and two mountain bikers from Santa Barbara who got bad altitude sickness. Worth doing, but not worth repeating. Trip report

pleasant hike and nice views from summit, despite haze.
If anybody comes across a Raiders cap in the talus near the top, let me know. A sudden gust took it from me.

Dirt Road
Hiked with my son, wife, and a friend. Second time to the summit. The dirt road approach to the trailhead seemed to take forever.

Great Views
Dayhiked the South Face with the GF. Views of the Sierra were amazing. Sliced a tire on the way out which canceled plans to hit Telescope Peak the next day. Next time it will be the West Ridge in the winter...can't wait.
