White Oaks, New Mexico

The Cedarvale Cemetery in White Oaks, New Mexico, is the final resting place for Susan McSween of Lincoln County War fame and James W. Bell, one of two deputies who were killed during Billy the Kid's escape from Lincoln in 1881. White Oaks had a population of about 2,500 in the late 1880s. There are several residents today in this virtual ghost town. Photo taken 9/2/07.
