First Multi-pitch Ice Climb
Like many on this page, this was my first multi-pitch ice climb. Me, one other student, and our guide from EMS went up the center of the slide to the major ice bulge. It was a phenomenal day, clear, cold, and windy. I didn't find it too physically or technically difficult. This climb was a good mental toughness-builder. Great introduction to the sport!

Excellent Beginning Slope
Went up with an EMS guide for our first real taste of alpine climbing. Great pitch to learn on. Walked up the left side to about 1/2 way up and made 3 pitches up to just below the main bulge. With the cold temperatures, upward snow and low visibility, this was an great learning slope and makes me want to do more.

First lead on ice
Climbed it with my wife, it was my first lead on ice, easy climb but very cold weather, it was -5F that day...
Good day to get out and learn the basics and practice technique things start to melt as the day went on but still made it to the top and learned a lot.

Avalanche!
Climbed it a couple times, the most recent being mid December 08 in the middle of a storm that dumped a couple feet of snow. Probably not the best idea to go out as we sent down a number of good snow slides, but we made it up via the right side.
It's a good introduction to multi-pitch ice for beginners, but not much more.

Perfect
Perfect weather. This climb stays pretty late into the spring compared to some other easy climbs in the area.

We made it!
With the help of our EMS guide, we made it all the way up in about 7 pitches.
Climbed the first couple of "pitches," then eventually worked our way left to make a quick retreat from the route. Cold and windy day, and we had to get back to Boston to catch our flight.
