"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Wonderful areaI drove to just above Willow Tank and hiked from there, about 2.5 miles to the top. The road to the tank could be driven in a regular high clearance SUV (like a Subaru) but the steep and rocky section just above the tank required 4Lo and beefy tires. The rest of the road could have been drive again by a Subaru. I really enjoyed the area and also hiked to two lookouts in the Natanes Mountains. I didn't see anybody for the day and a half I was there except for one Indian ranger, so make sure to get your permit. He was very friendly and we chatted for a while.

Had a great timeThoroughly enjoyed the easy walking (14 miles of it), the scenery, the remoteness, everything. Would go back.
