I set out in search of Willson Peak after work. I arrived at Hunting Hollow at around 2:45, and took the Middle Steer Ridge Trail. I was determined to make it so I had packed flashlights and night gear in case I had to walk in the dark. By 4:30 I had reached the peak I was amazed by the views. The wind added an extra perk to the hike as it was very windy. I took the same trail back to hunting hollow and arrived back at my truck at around 5:20. It was a fun and exhilarating hike! I hadn’t felt like that in a while!

Nice dayhike
Nice 9.5 mi round trip hike from Hunting Hollow Entrance to Coe. Great views from the summit ridge and on the Lyman trail descent.
I have visited Willson Peak several times on mountain bike loops starting from Hunting Hollow and from Coyote Creek entrance. I almost always include Grizzly Gulch in the loop for fun. I've hiked it once so far with Mike from Coyote Creek.

Kickham too
18.1 mile loop from Hunting Hollow, over to Kickham Peak (in the adjacent Cañada De Los Osos Ecological Reserve), then back to Phegley Ridge and up the hill to Willson.
It was foggy and surprisingly windy for late April
Out of Hunting Hollow - Came for Kickham but stayed for Willson, which is several hundred feet higher. Enjoyable hike of 16 miles/4k feet of gain. Lots of choices to make it into a loop hike, fun day indeed. TR is HERE.
