Winter Route, South Climb

The winter route for the south climb is falling apart fast, getting very slushy by noon time and a pain to deal with if you prefer ice like myself to sink your crampons into. The parking lot at Cold springs CG is a mess and no campsites to be had unless you sleep in your vehicle and plan on a lot of rude people to kep you awake until the wee hours of the morning. Best bet is to avoid camping al together at the Cold Springs CG until they repair the damage done by the 2012 fire. Twilight ascent is the best.
