This picture shows the two alternatives to reach the saddle. Follow the along or beside the ridge on the left; Purple shows the line I took to descend back to the 4WD road. It can be used as an alternative to the ridge route.

This is the kind of shot that is helpful. I have a friend who did this last year and he went up the middle instead of the ridge. Looks like a good route.

Was your friend from Vermont? This was one signature on the summit log from last year; the signee was from VT and was planning on hitting the Quinn Canyon HP afterwards. It was the first signature since 2004 I think.

Yes, he is a summitpost member, Greg J. from Grand Isle Vermont. He lives in Utah and is one of my favorite hiking partners. He did get Quinn Canyon as well. It was over the last memorial day holiday.
