Re: Where...

It was from the north, taken on the hike up to Appekunny falls. I guess it must be Apikuni then. Thanks!

Mount Wynn

This is certainly Mount Wynn. The Mountain was previously called Point Mountain. Dr. Frank B. Wynn was an early climber in Glacier who died on Mt. Siyeh to the South of Point Mountain. I discovered a thin box cannister off the summit of Mount Cleveland in 2001 with Frank B. Wynn's name as first on the register and showing the date of Aug 12, 1920. This now gives Frank Wynn the distinction of being the first to record an ascent of Mt. Cleveland. Some years after Wynn's death in on JUly 27, 1922. The department of the Interior changed Point Mountain to Mount Wynn recognition of work Dr. Frank Wynn did to create state parks and preserver natural areas throughout the United States. I am completing in 2009 a biography of Dr. Wynn as part of my doctoral dissertation on leadership.
Digital copies of the the Mount Cleveland register placed by Dr. Wynn in 1920 are available from me at david.walters@horizon.ab.ca
