Upper Falls
Just a thoroughly great hike. Was also able to view two mountain climbers to the right of the falls.

A much-loved trail
This was the first strenuous hike I did since badly spraining my ankle six weeks earlier, and coming down, I certainly felt the stiffness kick in. Was great conditioning for doing Half Dome the next day, though. Weather and views were excellent.

Long Descent after bagging El Cap and Eagle Peak
Started at the Big Oak Flat trailhead and bagged El Capitan and Eagle Peak. The long descent down the Yosemite Falls trail was tedious but the viewpoint was amazing. Passed hundreds of people on the way down after we had only seen a handful of people on the previous fifteen miles of trail.

Yosemite Falls to Yosemite Point
Went on Memorial weekend so the trail was absolutely packe which was kind of annoying. Lots of steep switchbacks made for a somewhat tough climb. The view from the falls overlook was absolutely stunning. I would definitely recommend hiking the extra 0.8 miles or so to Yosemite Peak for another great view.

Yosemite Falls
Great hike, we were all successful. Go early because it gets blazing hot in the afternoon. Lots of switch backs

Several times
Great hike, have done it several times. Did it again yesterday (11/2/14) and was dismayed at how little water was in the falls (not surprising given the drought).
Great family hike. Nice prep for our White Mountain summit the following day.

Yosemite Falls trail with El Cap and Eagle Peak
Went up Yosemite Falls trail and after making a side visit to Yosemite Point came back over to get Eagle Peak then continued on to El Capitan before descending back down the Falls trail. Great day! Trip report is HERE.

Yosemite Falls Trail
The trail and hike from the valley floor is best done early.....late spring or early summer. The run-off and the amount of water coming over the falls at this time can be amazing and such was the case on this day. Unbelievable really!!! This was a result of late winter storms, The snowfall in the Sierra's was epic. Kirkwood Ski Area had over 840 inches for the season! This well marked trail is less than 4 miles to the top....with the best view of all (3) sections of Yosemite Falls on the hike up. This is a fairly easy hike for a fit hiker, and like everywhere in Yosemite the views from the top are incomparable! This hike took my friend and I less than two hours to the top. Normally we would add North Dome, but on this day we were just out for an easy hike. I am back to edit this because several of my friends insist this is a strenuous hike...it is 3.5 miles uphill!
Days gone by. The 70's. No need for a trail. We'll just go straight up. So we did. Every now and then we'd come to a piece of the trail and relish its ease but then it would be right back to the climb. Today, with the sheer numbers who travel this road in mind, it'd be a different story.
Hiked this trail twice. Once for fun, other time to fix the lines down into the notch with Lost Arrow Spire (was climbing LASD for a few days after). Made the tyrolean traverse a reality.

Upper falls hike
Serious thunderstorm made for a wet one although virtually no one on the trail. Poor visiblity at summit due to thick precipitation. Gorgeous valley views on the descent as rain cleared.
Yosemite love

lots of water in spring 2011
Big snow year in winter 2010-11 led to wonderful falls in spring 2011. Thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful hike, despite lots of company. Considerable snow still on top.

Yosemite falls
nice trail. I did it once in winter and the falls formed a weird snow/ice pyramid at the bottom that you can get over to

Late start...but still made it!
Got a late start up the trail, made it to the top around 4pm in the middle of a huge thunder and lightning storm...next time will be smarter-up by noon, down by 2! Amazing views of the valley and half dome on the way up, the rocks can be very slippery on the way down.

Hiked and Backpacked Many Times in all Seasons
The hike to the top of Yosemite Falls is my favorite in the park. I have done it many times in all seasons, camping out on several occasions at the top of the upper falls.
