Standard route
Passed the two parties that were ahead of us, and had the summit to ourselves for a minute or two, until a helmeted climber reached the top from a ridge climb. His route made my hike seem like child's play. Summit was excellent for views, but got crowded very quickly at an early hour.
Hiked up Chapin, Chiquita and Ypsilon. We had perfect weather and fantastic views all around. My third Colorado Thirteener. The view down to the Spectacle Lakes is awesome!
Hiked up Chapin, Chiquita and Ypsilon. Beautiful day. Still some snow on the ground, but not enough to be much of a problem. Started and finished at the Chapin Pass trailhead.

From Fall River Road
Two days after Longs Peak we did the "easy triple" of Chapin, Chiquita, Ypsilon. Perfect weather all the way and we made friends with a Marmot who let me get within 3' to take his picture.
On the way we decided to climb a peak for each letter of the alphabet (completed on Xmas Peak Utah as there is no official X peak in Colo)

Mummy Mania
Started a little late, third summit of Mummy Mania. We only got 5 done as a nasty storm chased us off Hagues at the last minute.

Chapin Pass
Finally! After years of trying to get back here and do it. I was on top by 8:00am and hiked straight through a herd of Elk!
The one young Stag of the herd came to within 15 feet of me!! It was unbelievable. A moment I will not forget.

Nice hike
Nice climb from Fall River Road in combination with Chiquita
Route Climbed: Blitzen Ridge Date Climbed: May 1966
We did the 1st ascent of a variation on Blitzen Ridge.
We climbed the lower "Y" couloir for about three or four hundred feet and then traversed to the ridge on an exposed ledge system that joins the ridge just west of the "Four Aces".
I've summited Ypsilon 5 more times since by various other routes.
Route Climbed: Southwest Ridge Date Climbed: July 22nd 2001
My 2nd climb of Ypsilon, Chris's 1st. Used some oxygen after Chris's last experience on Mt Toll. Were able to burn up the mountain beating the approaching storms.
Route Climbed: Southwest Ridge, descended near Fay Lakes to Lawn Lake Trailhead Date Climbed: June 2003
My hiking buddies and I attempted the Mummy Mania, or Mummy Marathon as we call it. We didn't quite finish because my friend fell on some snow on the saddle between Ypsilon and Fairchild and broke his arm. We made a group decision not to climb anymore and bushwacked many miles to the Lawn Lake Trailhead. If that wasn't enough, we got hailed on for over an hour and saw a bear. Someday, I would like a rematch with the Mummy's.
Great climb. Middle section was a pitch of wasy mixed climbing (M3ish?) and the rest was easy couloir climbing. Great solo climb if you feel good on mixed ground.
