Approach
Start from lower Sphinx Lakes, which is a pretty camping spot. Mt Francis Farquhar looms above the lowest lake. Please see the main page for a description on how to get to Sphinx Lakes.
Route Description
Climb to the saddle south of the peak. At one point it is tempting to go right instead of left when climbing up to the saddle - go left, or you'll end up on a serrated ridge. Once at the saddle, follow the ridge to the summit. Staying closer to the ridge is more exciting. This can be turned into a class 2 climb by heading out onto the gentler slopes to the east.
Essential Gear
No gear required
