for another nice trip report. It was a pleasure meeting you at the Henrys Fork Campground after your successful climb. Hope our paths cross again. Gannett?
Bonking is like a battery going dead all at once in my experience. You can't tell yourself, "I'll keep pushing until I really feel like I need to something to eat and drink." By then, it's too late.
A very nice trip report there sir.
Lots of great photos.
I'll get around to voting on them this weekend when I can really take the time to admire them. So more 10/10s are coming on the individual photos! One day I'm going to climb that mountain.
I felt all that "man on the moon" stuff as I did the Highline Trail this past summer. Anderson Pass and Kings can be a kicker. Very, very nice writing my man!
Thanks Radek. Dennis and I have both put over 60,000 miles on our trucks in the past two years. Nothing beats the USA highway system. : ) All those great roads deserve visits.
Well Dean I got a chance to read the entire TR here at work. It was good reading here with my cup of coffee. I know what you mean about not having a good breakfast before a hike! And having someone come along the trail to give you a boost. One time these girl scouts blazed by me on the trail. I was like who are these little girls to be passing me! Ha. I made myself get up and go faster.

Re: I hope you celebratedThere were moose all over the place. I counted about twenty that I saw in the two days we were there. Them things are BIG.

Enjoyed reading......this one! Your observations on hydration/nutrition are well put, and right on--but mostly, congratulations on persevering!
(One thing, though--do you know that if you actually slept alongside I90 you were in Montana? You really get around!)

Re: Enjoyed reading...Oops, it was I-80, not 90. I'll correct that. Thanks for your comments and the heads up. : )

Re: Nice StoryThat is a great analogy. One minute I was feeling fine and the next minute, bummed. The Energizer bunny I'm not. Thanks for your comments.

Bonk = ???Nice report Dean.
Not sure if the title was meant to be humorous or not but if not then you might want to know that bonk has some alternate meanings:
