Overview
Unmarked path to the summit of Maja Bojs
The massif of
PROKLETIJE (BJESHKET E NEMUNA/DAMNED MOUNTAINS) has many high and impressive peaks and groups of the peaks. One of them is for sure
Maja Bojs (2461 m), which is placed in the neighbourhood of Maja Jezerce (2694 m), staying on it's NW side.
Maja Bojs is situated in the central, main part of
PROKLETIJE (BJESHKET E NEMUNA) range. This beautiful peak is surrounded by many impressive peaks as are Maja Jezerce (2694 m), Maja Hekurave (2625 m), Maja Shnikut (2554 m)(Nikacki Vrh), Maja Radohines (2570 m), Maja Kokervhake (2508 m), Maja Malisores (2490 m), Karanfili (2490 m) and Maja Livades (2496 m). Also, it's neighbourhood is enriched by amazing valleys of Buni Jezerce (on the SE) and Ropojana Valley (on the NW).
Maja Bojs peak is naturally connected with a
Scokista (2396 m) group of peaks. It exists some opinions that Maja Bojs is the highest peak of Scokista group, but in the mountain literature you can find the fact which tell us that the elevation of Scokista group is 2396 m. So, following that fact we can say that Maja Bojs is the peak for its own. In any case, Maja Bojs together with neighbour Scokista group is the natural wall which separate Ropojana Valley from Buni Jezerce Valley (Lakes Valley). Approaching from Ropojana Valley from Montenegrin part of PROKLETIJE massif, entering into Buni Jezerce Valley, one of the most impressive scenery is the view to amazing high SE rocky wall of Maja Bojs.
