Mount Thielsen, OR

Known as "the lightning rod of the Cascades," Mount Thielsen (9,182 feet) is what's left of an ancient volcano. It can be seen rising just north of Oregon's Crater Lake NP. It has some Class IV climbing on it, just below the spire-like summit. This photo was taken in October 1982.

Wow

This is what I envy to you guys in the states!
A long road lost in the middle of nothing!!

Here in the north of Italy you are lucky if you find a piece of road long less than a mile without buildings, factories or commercial centres!

In these last years I am seriously thinking of getting away!

Marco ?

This was from Oregon in 1982. It is located
between two ancient volcanos in the Cascade
Range. The reason there are no buildings is
because it is National Forest land. It is
protected under the laws of the land, for
the enjoyment of all. I hope you have the
chance to visit this wonderful place, as it
is there for getting away from the mechanized
world where you will become lost in the beauty of Nature surrounding you.
