Awesome view ...Who's Carolyn? She appears to have a somewhat
tired, yet satisfied look on her face.
In fact, that's the same expression I have after CRAWLING a couple hundred feet through the cactus-filled desert. Nice photo!!!

Re: Awesome view ...Hi Larry, You are very observant. Carolyn is my wife and my best friend. The photo is a little old but it conveys the mood.
It was on a very windy day, and it was her second big mountain.
Many thanks for the visit and the vote,
Marc

Is thatthe normal route from Bishop Pass? It looks steep. I planned that climb during my 2008 stay in California but I was running out of time ...

Re: Is thatI am sorry about such a long delay in responding. I don't know how it got past me!!!
I am afraid this steep gully is the easiest route up Mt. Agassiz. It's very loose, but not all that bad. There was one rock face near the top about 25 or 30 feet, but it wasn't very steep. We climbed it without a rope and found an easier way coming down.
Thank you for the visit and hope you will have better luck next time in California.

Re: Is thatThere are at least two gullies leading to the summit. We may have been on the more difficult gully. Still, it really wasn't that bad. I think the photo seems steeper than I remember it.
