Allalinhorn 4027m traverse 2014

Introduction

After a week of bad weather and failed attempts on Monch and Jungfrau via the mighty Grand Alesch Glacier my son Keith, rgg and I moved to Saas Fee and a promise of an improvement in the forecast. At last our luck changed. We climbed the Allalinhorn 4027m via the easy WNW Flank (F+) - and completed a traverse by descending the harder Hohlaubgrat (PD+), down to the Britania Hut at 3030m. I will be writing an account of our exploits in forthcoming "Alps International Expedition 2014", but in the meantime here is a preview of some of the photos from this very successful and enjoyable day:
