There were a couple of these
alpine choughs (
Pyrrhocorax graculus) around. Undoubtedly they had learned that humans leave bits of food. The Kleiner Peitlerkofel gets plenty of visitors, and, like me, many were having a break to enjoy the views and eat something at the same time.
