Route Climbed: Shadow Canyon, Fern Canyon, West Ridge Date Climbed: Too many
I have probably been up Bear Peak some 50 times at all times of the year. Indeed when I knew no other mountians I motored up to Boulder to climb Bear 3 or more times a week. I have seen it on summer afternoons covered with ladybugs and on cold winter inversions when Boulder isn't at all visable. I have been up it with friends with family with dogs and solo.

An excellent hike with a fun mild scramble near the top. A bad hike if you have a fear of mountain lions ripping your body to shreds, but at least its not an 12-hour torture-thon. Great views of Boulder and Denver, plus the Indian Peaks to the west.

Beautiful day yesterday. Climbed both South Boulder Peak and Bear Peak starting from the Mesa TH, up Shadow Canyon, down Fern Canyon, and back. Made for a very long but great day.

I've been up this peak multiple times. It's a great day hike, usually there are few people the higher one goes, and the view is wonderful from the top. It's really nice seeing the lights below on the way up (or down) on summer evenings.
12 January, '16: 2nd of my traverse of S. Boulder Peak, Bear, & Green Mtn. Summited at 15.27. Wonderful views. Only one on the mountain :)

Route Climbed: All routes Date Climbed: 1998 to presentDefinitely a great training climb. The Shadow Canyon Trail will get the legs burning on a non-stop ascent.

Route Climbed: From Eldorado Springs; Shadow Canyon Date Climbed: April 22, 2003Nice hike, a good warm up for the higher mountains. Lots of mud on the lower part of the trail. I saw two other people the entire day.
