Overview

Blake gubler trail head is 7041' ASL. I believe this is the shortest route (certainly for the more scenic Burger peak which, IMO is a much better objective.)

Getting There

From St George, take UT-18 N, in approximately 10 mi, turn right on West valley diamond drive, in .4 mi, turn left on Blake gubler Rd, in .5 miles turn rt on FR-33, stay on FR-33 for 8.3 mi to trailhead. Most 2wd vehicles with reasonable clearance should be OK, I don't think a Prius would be a good idea.

Route Description

TH -7014' ASL
Mileage to Burger peak -4.5
Burger peak elevation -10321'ASL
Total elevation gain -3832' (according to my GPS, I'm skeptical, this route has very little up & down).

This description is for mainly for Burger peak, I didn't have the energy or motivation to continue to the 44' higher, tree covered signal peak.

Follow blake gubler trail to intersection with summit trail (which is much closer than shown on map, so don't bother with what looks like an obvious shortcut). Turn right on summit trail, at approximately 10100' ASL, there is an obvious branch on the right which leads to Burger peak (10325' ASL) which is elevated above trees for good views. There are several false summits before burger which also provide good views. Burger peak has a geodetic survey marker and summit register.

After returning to summit trail, turn right to continue to signal peak, or left to go home if you're lazy like me.
