An aggressive stroll  Sucess!

Interesting high point: there are three routes, one entirely by foot (I didn't take), one by car to the parking lot and shuttle to the top (I didn't take), and finally by car to the parking lot and 0.6 mile steep, switchbacked paved trail to the top. I took this one and am glad I did, as I got there at 4:30pm and they were closing at 5:00pm.

State Highpoint #26  Sucess!

I must agree with the author of this page when he says "No matter how you hike it, this is one of the most enjoyable Eastern U.S. highpoints". It just a cool mountain and so unexpected for a non-mountainous state like GA. Huge summit platform/tower gives one access to beautiful views in all directions. I just hiked up the paved trail from the parking lot, didn't use the shuttle bus service.

Highpoint # 19  Sucess!

Nice hike from Jack's Gap! Sure glad I remembered the bug spray; it's definitely needed.

HP #33!

Very touristy feel to it for a state highpoint. I love the panoramic views from all points of the tower, though.

Beautiful Day  Sucess!

Nice well kept area. Took the bus up from the lot. The USGS marker is inside a locked door at the center.

Highpoint #19  Sucess!

Remnants of Tropical Storm Nate really kept me from enjoying this summit. It was cold and windy with no visibility but what a great experience...I will have to come back!

Brasstown Bald #6  Sucess!

Barely made summit before sunset. On a work trip, I rented a convertible Mustang and ran upstate to make this sunset. Saw a few bats flying on the way down.

HP #19  Sucess!

Third of a 5 HP long weekend. Alone at top, 21 degrees with nice wind. Great views, except for the multiple fires in the visible area. On to South Carolina from here...

Did this first thing in the morning, and had the entire place to ourselves. Views were really good, but lots of fires in the area.

Highpoint # 21  Sucess!

On a 3 week RV trip. Hit 4 state highpoints. Dogs in tow. Took the short hike up from the parking lot. Beautiful day and great autumn colors. Stayed at a campground about 8 miles away and we could see the summit tower from town (Hiawassee) Pretty amazing.

HP #13  Sucess!

This was our 13th Highpoint and the first stop on our week long trip of six Highpoints. We made the short hike from the parking lot to the summit. There is a shuttle that can run you to the top.

Larvitour Stop #9  Sucess!

I started up from Jack's Gap at 6 am, hoping to catch the sunrise at the summit... but I got to the top an hour late. Oh well. The views were still quite nice in the morning light, and I had the high point almost to myself.

Way back from FL  Sucess!

Drove to parking lot and hiked the rest of the way up
