Brutal Drive
Stood Atop Ohio and saw the hand of God...no kidding it took me almost 30 seconds to drive up to the Top Of Ohio!

# 24
Hit the highpoint on the way home from Iowa after Christmas break. Marks # 24 for me, so almost halfway done. The walk-through gate was open, but the bins with information on top were locked.

Hit this hill late
Super dark out but we crawled up and got some photos. This was the last high point on Doogies and I's trip through the mid-west. and it landed me at 34 high points completed.

Campbell Hill
I'm a native Ohioan and have lived in the state for 37/43 years and have driven through Bellefontaine a half dozen times at least. Finally made the detour (spent 45 minutes trying to find it though). #5.
Got there early before school started but the gate was already open. Got a sweet Certificate of Completion too. I guess that's what happens when you put a school on top of a Highpoint...

Took a detour to this guy on my way from NY to WV. Drove through the night on the way out, got soaked walking to the summit - I am sure there wasn't much of a view anyway but with the rain and fog I could barely see 10 feet anyways. Afterwards I headed over to the Zane Shawnee Cavern for a great little tour before driving back to Wheeling WV for the night.
Well taken care of and has a bit of history. Thought I should knock out a couple of local HP before I do a western states loop. On to Indiana......

SHP #5 -- 24 years ago!!!
It was a bit different then. When I get around to scanning my old photos of my highpoint quest, begun in 1985 with my daughter Vanessa, I'll post a shot showing the site as it was then. Back then the Ohio state flag was flown below the Stars and Stripes, and there were four benches arranged around the marker. Campbell Hill was the fifth of my 49 state high points and Vanessa's 39 SHPs.
