Highpont with the fam
HP #19 - Took my two small girls and 68 year old mom and 70 year old aunt. The highpoint and log stored within a decorated mailbox are about a 300 foot walk in the woods. For me, highpointing is often a time of solitude, particularly since much of my family is either too young, old to attempt some of the other peaks. This was a beautiful drive in the farmland with a very interesting site that was part of the NORAD system back in WW2. The satellite dish is still revolving, albeit no long actively in use. This site a great combination summit with Hoosier Hill in Indiana

Eventually they close the gates in the evening so just go during business hours.

US State Highpoint 4/20
It’s a hill in a field on a college campus. Very whelming. Several highpoints in the Midwest seem to be this way; an interesting coincidence, or is it illuminati? The world may never know.

What views
This may have been the hardest hike that I have ever taken. ;-p This was just another quick check off for the list, and not much to see. Bellefontaine and the area is interesting in itself for a quick day trip.

Stiff winds, low temperatures made this a chilly 5 minute stop on our road trip to secure a puppy.

Souper Summit
Andy Warhol should paint a picture of this one. I came here from Hoosier Hill. Met another highpointer making his visit. State highpoint #19.

Not much of a "hike" here, but the rotating faux radar is a nice touch to the area's history.

success
The peak might not have been much, but I did enjoy going by the Wright brothers' place and to Gen. Grant's birthplace on this trip

HP# 5
Had a couple weeks off from work, decided to take a trip to the East from IL to hit a bunch of HPs. (HP 2 of 9 during this trip.) Got here just when it was getting dark, a little bit hard to find, still a pretty cool setup. Little to no view.

High Point #19
Nice little high point general area, but relatively disappointing views all things considered (parking lot, construction and buildings), and no hike to speak of (15 steps from parked car to actual high point).
Mediocre and boring highpoint, but a nice plaque for it with an american flag. Went on a Sunday when its technically closed but parked just outside the gate and walked through an opening in the fence, no issue.

On a road trip from Chicago around the southeast. Arrived just after dark on a very cold and snowy night. My dog barked ferociously at something across the parking lot...
