In Summer, Do Lone Mountain Early
I started off at sunrise to beat the summer heat. The trail up Lone Mountain is steep but short. Don't expect pristine wilderness, you're in Las Vegas. It's still a fun hike. I have full directions for the Lone Mountain trail hike on my blog here.
