Approach

See the "Getting There" section on the Champlain Mountain main page to see how to get to the Precipice Trail trailhead on the Park Loop Road.

Route Description

This route is a much easier alternative to summit from the Precipice Trail trailhead - perhaps to meet up with a more aggressive hiking partner at the summit. The first part of the hike is the same as for the Precipice Trail. Just prior to the bottom of the east face cliffs the East Face trail heads north towards the north ridge to avoid the ledges and ladders of the Precipice Trail. Once on the north ridge turn left or south on the Bear Brook trail to the summit.

Essential Gear

Typical hiking gear is adequate for this route. Bring your camera and binoculars.

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
