Overview
Not significant peak in Kitzbüheler Alps. Situated in eastern part ot this group -
Kelhauser Alpen. Its one of peaks at ridge: Konisgsleiter - Falschriedel - Ochsenkopf - Nebelkarspitze - etc. Its not too steep - mostly grassy slopes. Very popular destination because of closeness cable car to Konigsleten. Nice panorama - especially to Zillertal Alps, far to east - Hohe Tauern. Under summit is ski area - on winter, on summer months - pastures with plenty of cows. Beware of cow-bombs! ;-).
Getting There and Route
Best start point is village Konigsleiten near road from Zell am Ziller (Zillertal) to Krimml (Pinzgau). From there very easy - wide path to Konigsleiten - No 61 or 60. On winter these paths are ski slopes. From Konigsleiten
very short approach to the summit, without any difficulty. Summit is reachable in two hours of very calm hike. Of course we can use the cable car to Konigsleiten - then we need only about half hour. Good idea is to begin hike very early - then we will be there alone and have a chance to inversion in the valley.
When to Climb
All year - of course in the winter months can always be avalanche or slippery terrain.
Camping
Konigsleiten offering many possibility of accomodation, campings are in Zillertal or Pinzgau.
