Overview
This route is a nice class two route that leads to the summit of Grassy Mountain, elevation 8,613 feet. There are some steep portions along the ridge up to the summit, but nothing an in shape hiker could not handle. This route is approximately 3.5 miles round trip.

Getting There
High Clearance Vehicle Highly RecommendedFrom Caliente, NV take Highway 93 North about 54 miles North just past Pony Springs. Turn left onto Sidehill Pass Rd (also known as Cave Valley Road). You will see Grassy Mountain to your West. This road takes you on the South Side of Grassy Mountain.
Once you turn left. Stay on the main road for about 6.18 miles. At this point turn right onto a dirt road and drive for Approx 1.96 miles. At this point, turn right at the fork and drive approx. 0.65 miles and fix a parking spot.

Bring a good pair of hiking boots. Also with this area being very remote and services a long ways a way be sure to have plenty of water. A cooler full of food and drinks would be nice too when you return from the mountain.

Nice work...howeverSummit of Grassy Mountain: 5,590'? Also, you say the hike to the top is 1.74 miles, so 3.5 miles round trip?
