Route Description
The Greenland Road is a state gamelands road which leads up to the connecting ridge between Broad Mountain and Spechty Kopf. It is about 1.3 miles from the trailhead to the ridge. From here you have to bushwack to the summit which lies to the southeast only about 0.2 miles away. The brush is heavy in places so I'd recommend long pants. From the top views extend all the way to Blue Mountain north of Harrisburg. Also, good views of Peters Mountain on which the Appalachian Trail run are present. To return you can either bushwack south to Powell's Creek and another gamelands road that will lead you to the starting point, or you can return the sameway. Either way there will be some navigation involved. It's a nice short hike for when you have little time but want to get one in.
Essential Gear
Long pants for brush due to the forest fires.
In snow and ice conditions, crampoons.
Other than that, normal daypack things and some snacks.
