On a nice sunny 80-degree-F day I decided to hike Wachusett Mtn. This is the highest point of Worcester County in Massachusetts. I decided to take the most direct route, which is the Pine Hill Trail from the Bicentennial Trail starting at the Visitor Center.

thumb_IMG_0705_1024The Bicentennial Trail is a short walk connecting to the start of the Pine Hill Trail. The Pine Hill is like a rocky staircase; It ascends the mountain, crosses Down Summit Rd, and then ascends again to the car parking area near the summit. From there it's a short walk to the summit itself and the observation deck (which has a ramp so it's handicapped-accessible).

After the climb it was a straightforward descent back the same way.
