"As an adolescent I aspired to lasting fame, I craved factual certainty, and I thirsted for a meaningful vision of human life - so I became a scientist. This is like becoming an archbishop so you can meet girls."

Excellent scrambleSet out very early on a cool clear spring day from Borrowdale side - up over Esk Hause and then down into Great Moss. Route finding looked to be tricky so I climbed a few hundred feet up eastern side of the valley to eyeball the route properly. This was a helpful exercise - managed to piece it all together from brief guidebook description. Very enjoyable hard scramble/easy rock climb up to top of Ill Crag - then on over Broad Crag to Scafell Pike (3rd visit) - and then the long haul all the way back to Borrowdale.
