"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

A Beautiful Autumn DayThe colors were somewhat muted, but they were there. A nice trail in good weather.

Soggy dayAs soon as I turned the Jeep off at the trailhead the rain started to come down lightly. Oh well, right? Rain finally let up around the half-way point up the mountain and I had good views from the huge bald spot at the top for a rainy day. Some slick ice up there could've been hazardous. Rain started up again just as I started hiking down under the cover of the trees.

Great hike...to the summit of Looking Glass. Great views in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
