Grew up near Cowles and I have used it for training since I was 14. I ran it as hard as I could every weekend in training for Cross Country when I was in high school, and recorded a Personal Best of 13:35 from the main trail approach @ Golfcrest Dr. in 1992. Other PR's: 16:48 up from Barker Way (2003), 9:06 descent from summit to main parking lot (1992). Ran it in 14:07 as recently as 2003, but I've only been under 16 minutes once since 2006. Now I mostly just fast-hike it in 22-25 minutes. I only know of 1 other person to have beaten my time of 13:35 (he told me he ran it in 13:32), so if there are any other advanced trail runners out there who have ran 100% up Cowles, let me know. I'd like to know how my time stands up through the years. I once summitted Cowles 50 times in 40 days as a form of spiritual therapy, and it transformed my life.
