Traverse of Mission Peak Wilderness Preserve
Hiked in from Ohlone College, summitting Mission Peak, Mt. Allison, Monument North (unnamed) and Monument South (the named summit). This was my third summit of this peak and probably the last as I'll be leaving the Bay Area. Thank you to my wife and brother for helping with the transport.

Dayhike
Started from Ed Levin and made the fun, quick ascent up to the three peaks. Both times I have been here I have seen a Bald Eagle and a coyote. Monument is the often overlooked, but more enjoyable neighbor of Mission Peak, go check it out!

Std. Route, Ed Levin Park
From TH at dog park in Ed Levin Park. Enjoyed watching hang gliders ride the breeze at the beginning of the walk. Three people seen the entire day. Looking down from the top on the hills of velvety gold, so beautiful. On over to Allison and back. The trip from Monument Peak to Allison was the most memorable.

Did a one-way carpool of Monmument, Allison and Monument with a handful of friends. It was the middle of 2010, I think...

Monument Via Mission
Nice hike/run up Mission from Stanford, then across the ridge to Monument. Saw a pack of 3-4 coyotes and several Golden Eagles on the ridge! Amazing that despite the 100's who seem to climb Mission daily, very few wander off the Stanford fire road.

Several times in the early eighties. A few more times in the mid-nineties with my then fiancee, 'girlblue'. A quick, fun, albeit strenuous hike.

Went back determined to get the three peaks (Mission Peak, Mt. Allison, and Monument Peak) and completed without trouble. Easy and enjoyable hike, fantastic views!

2nd time doing this from Stanford Avenue and Mission Peak. This time with Mt Allison too. Amazing how everyone just disappears as soon as you step just a few feet south of Mission Peak.

Monument + Mission BART
Beautiful Bay Area spring hike. Flowers are blooming. Ridge between Monument and Mission was empty; even on a beautiful Saturday I didn't see a soul until meeting the throngs on top of Mission Peak. Took Monument Peak trail up and BART down. Avoid the BART stretch in this park - it's been destroyed to an ankle-breaking terrain from the cows, it's mis-marked, and the Monument Peak trail is much nicer.

I'm surprised more people don't make the trek from Mission Peak on over to Monument Peak. It's an enjoyable hike. I found one of those GeoCache things on the summit.
