West Slopes main trail on a Sunday - VERY crowded. Clear, fair weather and light wind. My wife's first 14er - nice day out and good acclimation for later in season. Next time up to Guanella we'll probably go to Squaretop --- all day we kept looking wistfully through the crowds at it's calm and quiet.

Tough climb
For my sea level lungs! First 14er used as acclimatization for Mt Elbert. Great weather, windy up top!

Short Hike
This was by far the easiest 14er I've done, considering you are very close to the summit when you start out. Still, it was a great day out with friends! I would say it's a good starter peak, but I wouldn't want to lead anyone to believe all 14ers are this easy.

My First 14er
My very first 14er, and what a great experience! Skies were blue, the sun was out, and the trail from Guanella Pass was jampacked full of dayhikers from Denver. We experienced a very crowded summit, and rain on the way down. Regardless, the experience was enjoyable enough to prompt an addiction to climbing. Thank you Bierstadt!

snowpacked down for a bed the night before. temp dropped to -15 or at least thats what it felt like with the fuel canister between my legs. Must have been dehydrated, felt really bad once the ridge was conquered. cold windy day.

A good combo
The West Slope was a good choice to keep an eye on the weather!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking the Sawthooth Ridge to bag Mt. Evans too.

Nice winter climb
This was my wife's first 14er and we decided to do it on a blustery day in November. Despite some cold feet due to too many socks we made it to the summit and enjoyed a fine view of a snow covered landscape. We even saw the "SKI" runs!

I took a Texan with me, he insisted on doing a 14'er despite his lack of experience (and my strong recommendations against it) so I decided on Bierstadt. Got to about 13,700 feet before he got nasty altitude sickness,so we had to turn back. It was, needless to say, very humbling experience for him. It was my second time on Bierstadt first time made it to top.

Bierstadt
Guanella Pass road was completely plowed...except for a 10 foot wall of snow just after the parking lot when driving up the Georgetown side. WTF? They just plowed a wall of snow up to block the road. Conditions were fine, but this added 2 miles on the front and back end of the trip. As for the hiking, snowshoes were mandatory. Hiking through the willows in the flat marsh the snow was 3+ feet deep and we broke trail. Snow mostly wind-packed above tree-line and ditched snowshoes. Made the chilly summit and climbed back down. Back to the car just before dark.

Surprised by the amount of snow. But certainly enjoyed strapping the snowshoes on for the descent.

Sawtooth
First solo climb, combined this with Evans and the Sawtooth for an awesome day.
Was focused more on the sawtooth traverse than either of the peaks, but still enjoyed the views. As for the travers, Awesome! Loved the scrambling and my friend and I created our own way at times.
