From Kite Lake
Headed out with my husband and Angel the dog for this peak and Loveland. Figured we'd do Loveland as an out-and-back from Buckskin... Husband and dog pooped out, so I summited Buckskin then turned back. Bummer. Still, enjoyed having this summit all to myself when the DeCaLiBron was packed with 14er pilgrims.

Tour de Buckskin
Wanted an easy centennial today - and I got it! I was scared off by the No Parking signs by the Sweet Home Mine, so I parked a bit further up. That meant that I spent a half-hour trying to find an nice way through the willows (dog on leash through that stuff is no fun). Up Loveland to Buckskin (both summits).

NE slopes from Kite Lake
Short hike- took more time to drive there from DIA than it took to get up and back down. Beautiful weather, but some wind. I didn't see anyone on my side of Kite Lake despite a full lot there.

I think....
Low clouds and snow, so visibility wasn't that great. I seemed to have gone across a ridge and hit both summits ????

with Loveland
I climbed Loveland Mountain first and then over to Buckskin. My descent was closer to Kite Lake than where I started the hike. It was really windy that day. Sometimes I had to stop and brace myself and not move. If I kept on walking I didn't know where my foot would come down!

The ridge was holding alot of fresh snow. A hazy white out above about 13,300ft - little wind but some fresh snow. I couldn't see more than 10 feet away on the stormy summit. I wish I could have seen the views from up top. Nevertheless, another solo success.
