I am sure it has been done but when my wife and I were employed mapping invasive weeds in the Logan Ranger District, my wife was tasked with mapping Cottonwood Canyon with her coworker. She spent almost twelve hours in there trying to find the trail out because the trail has been nonexistent for years. I would steer clear of there if you don't want to suffer needlessly.
