One of my favorite hikes
This is a great hike! It was a short one, I ran up most of the way, but the views on the way up and at the top were amazing. Felt like I was flying over LA in a blimp
If You Live in LA You Have No Excuse For Missing Out on This One!!! LOL
I remember liking this hike a lot at the time. This is one urban hike you do not want to miss if you live around here or are from out of town. Who would want to miss the iconic Hollywood sign anyhow?!?...lol

Hollywood!
The trifecta of Hollywood, Lee and Cahuenga. Great views, and a fun hike.

Beautiful hike
A bit rainy and foggy in the morning but this kept the crowds away and the afternoon was gorgeous! Hiked with 34 others from the Kern River Valley Hiking Club and if it weren't for us there would hardly be anyone up there! We took the trail from the Merry Go Round up Fern Canyon, summited the peak, took a side trip to the observatory, then back up to the top and back down via the Ankle Breaker trail near the old zoo.

I usually start from somewhere near the golfcourse and pick out whatever ridge I'm interested to use getting up and down. Do this as a conditioner when I don't have much time.
I have hiked this peak many times, from all directions. My favourite route is leaving from the Merry-go-round striaght up the steep ridge.

Mornings
It's my morning hike these days as I live so close to Griffith Park. Nice to walk out of the house and up into the hills. Done it from almost every angle. Nice views every once in awhile.
Route Climbed: Random trails to the summit Date Climbed: 2001 or 2002
I never considered this a "peak". More like a fun hill. I used to run the trails up to the Hollywood sign and somehow managed to sneak past all the video cameras to make my way down to the Holywood sign and take some pics.. Definately a unique hiking experience.
This is a great climb in the Hollywood area. I used to climb around the hills there in late 1990. I enjoyed video taping the views from the summit and nearby area. Wonderful sites-beautiful sunset.
