Fourmile Creek
Hiked up Sherman with some co-workers. It was chilly in the morning and windy on the summit, but sunny and beautiful. The leaves were just starting to turn up there. We stopped at South Park Brewing for beers afterward.
8/13/19: One day before the full moon, but it was pretty bright. Very peaceful to be on the summit alone at 10.30pm! 5th time up.
10/24/20: Solo with Sheridan from Iowa Gulch for a seasonal grid completion. 6th time up.

snow slog
lots of snow and high temps made for post hole madness on the way out. at least we got a nice glissade.
3 hours round-trip with Aya. Tyler ride in the pack except for the easy 1/4 mile at the start. Seeing the misery on the faces of the mountain bikers on the dirt road hurt more hike.
It's tricky finding the unmarked trail head and this added to my time. This hike is pleasant and despite being just over an illness I decided to take it on given it's believed to be one of the easiest 14ers but there is no easy fourteener in reality. Around 11:15 the clouds gathered and thunder was taking place but I decided to go on since the forecast didn't call for lightning and it was ice raining. The view from the saddle and the summit are really worth the effort. I did snap couple of photos and headed down without a break. The air was buzzing and static was all over and it was menacing to say the least.
Summit ski of the south slopes with Rachael and Ben, Ben's first 14ers ski. 4th time up Sherman for me.

#42 South slope direkt
One of the quickest 14ers hands down. Took 45 minutes to the top and 25 minutes coming down. Surprisingly had some of the best views too. Very prominent above the towns that flank it on either side.

Cold and Cloudy
Hiked with Ruvicha and two other friends. A good trail made for a relatively fast hike, though we encountered a dusting of snow from the previous night on top, and the summit was clouded in, so not much to see until we dropped back down on the return. My first Colorado 14-er. Lots of old mines dotting the sides of the trail.

Cold but worth the climb
Started up from Four Mile on the east side in sunshine, arrived at the snow-dusted summit in a cloud that limited visibility to only a dozen yards or so. Once down and out of the cloud, a cold wind picked up but the views westward to the Sawatch Range were excellent. We chose the eastern side because the threat of thunderstorms made it advisable to use the shorter route than that which comes up from Iowa Gulch on the west -- but at least from the pass between Sherman and Sheridan, the trails looked to be about equal in length.

With Sheridan
Started around 8AM at Fourmile Creek. No problems getting to upper trailhead. Lots of people, more than one hundred easily. A little over an hour to Sherman summit. Climbed Mt Sheridan afterwards via shared saddle. Some snow slopes to make from rapid decent.
From the Four Mile TH. Another bluebird day so I did Gemini and Sheridan afterwards. Took ninety nine minutes to get to the summit from the gate on the road.
