Route Climbed: Hundley Gordon Route
Very nice climb. Took my buddy and I about 3 hours to reach the top from Pantoll(we took our time). only bad part was the first sound we heard when we got to the summit was a baby crying. But the views of the city and the bay was worth it.
started at pantoll hiked up to the mountain theater-very cool- continued on the rock spring trail to the fire road to the parking lot and up the boardwalk. nice views. not to crowded on trails. hike down was nice. small redwood groves and pleasent weather. traffic down was crowded but what do you expect on a sunny bay area day
Route Climbed: Panoramic Highway and stairs Date Climbed: June 29, 2004
Did the minimal hike from the roads-end on Panoramic Highway since I had two other highpoints in the central valley on the schedule. This was stop 1 of 3 that included Mount Vaca of Solano County and Carpenter Hill of Sacramento County.
Did this one with Dennis Poulin after we had done Little Blue Peak. Slept in our vehicles in a parking lot nearby. Then did Mt. Davidson, early the next morning (SF cohp)
Route Climbed: Mill Valley to the Top Date Climbed: April 12, 2003
Ok, so I have to be honest that I hate this mountain, so the only way I would agree to hike it was at loopdedo's suggestion that we hike it from sea level on one of the rainiest days ever (no people). So I agreed and set off in my jeans. Ok that was a bad idea, but we did it, and couldnt see a lick from the top. Thats the only way I would ever want to hike on this mountain - I'm a mountain snob and this one doesnt cut it.
Hiked to the summit with my wife and a friend from England. An amazing mountain so close to a major urban region, and yet I felt like I could be far away in a much more remote location.

Incredible views. Once the Oakland Hills had a layer of fresh snow, and another time it was the classic Golden Gate Bridge towers coming out of the fog. Awesome. I was without camera both times, but the memory is still there.
Route Climbed: Old Railroad Grade to Fern Creek Traverse Date Climbed: March 7th, 2004
Started out late in the day at the parking lot by the Mountain House Inn. Headed up the only really steep section from the fire house to the Old Railroad Grade. Follow that up around the mountain, by the Mountain Top lodge, and on to the summit. Great views of the city and the Farallon Islands. Came back down the Fern Creek trail. Entire route was 3.5 hours and a hair under 7 miles.
