Fairly short
Fairly foggy day, so not a lot of sights. Not a bad hike for being so close to San Francisco though.

My 7th CA cohp
Hiked from the parking lot with my nephew, Spencer. Beautiful warm day. Summitted at 2:45 PM. The temperature here was 25 degrees warmer than it was on the top of Mt. Davidson in San Francisco 2 hours later.

Sand to Summit!!
Hiked from Stinson Beach via the Matt Davis trail. Long day at 18 miles round trip but well worth the effort. Great alternative to the typical hike from the parking lot....

Stunning views today
Warm sunny weather, clear blue skies, lots of wildflowers and hummingbirds... what more could you want?

Mt. Tam 3-Peak
Covered the 3 peaks (west, middle, and east) of Mt. Tam, as well as skirting those lakes in Marin County.
Spent the weekend at Pantol. Day hiked Muir woods and Mt. Tam. Awesome views.

Great trails
In my opinion, Mt. Tam has the best trails in the Bay Area. Each side of the mountain has its share of good qualities and the summit affords the best views of the area that I have seen, aside from the view out of the window of a 737 leaving Oakland Airport.

Great Spot
I really enjoyed the views and the area. It makes me think that living in the Bay area might not be too bad... then I looked at home prices!!

Old Railroad Grade
Great place to train, if you can stomach all the Marin County hot-tubbers.

Beautiful Views of Bay Area!
Hiked with Cal Triathlon Team
ROUTE: Muir Woods Visitor Center to Pantoll (Ben Johnson & Stapelveldt trails); Pantoll to Mountain Theater (Bootjack Trail); Mountain Theater to West Point Inn (Rock Spring Trail); West Point Inn to "Summit"; Summit to Mountain Home Inn (Hogback); Mountain Home Inn to Muir Wood Vis. Ctr. (Ocean View Trail).
This route was difficult enough when keeping pace with the triathlon team. Great route to offer as many diverse views of the region as possible - sweeping vistas, immersion in redwood trees. Descent on Hogback is steep and can work the joints.
Clear day, GREAT view of Bay Area. Beauty is most certainly in the eye of the beholder; I suppose if one hoped to escape urban development and gentrification (as imposing and terrible as it is, I acknowledge), one would hit up Diablo or Yosemite. Solitude is best found elsewhere.
Hope to hit this on my mountain bike soon.

Unbeatable view
Started from Mountain Home Inn in late afternoon, up to the Railroad Grade to the Fern Creek Trail. Very nice and scenic trail. Reached the summit of the east peak just after sunset. Absolutely incredible view, but very cold and windy at the top.
I can't count how many times I have climbed up and all over this mtn. One of the best parts, the German beer pub hidden on one of the trails!

I've climbed this mountain about 4 times this year, just as training and exercise. But quite a beautiful place!

Long Day RT to Stinson Beach
Made a nice loop from Stinson Beach to the East Peak summit via Dipsea/Matt Davis/Temelpa trails. Returned to Stinson via Fern Creek/Rock Ridge/Steep Ravine trails. Great weather with a total of ~16.5 miles made for a fantastic day, topped off by some serious grub at Moylan's!
