4th peak of the day. Reading the description of the summits, I don't know which one I made, but the coffee can log book was there, encrusted with ice and totally waterlogged. Time for a new one. Nice views all the way round and no one else on the trail.

PV Ridge 5 peak day

Hiked via Islip Saddle on a cool fall day
Short and simple hike before working on a weekend. I wanted to explore the area, as the official top was clearly not the true summit in the area (confirmed by the webpage here) but did not have enough time.
From Islip Saddle, 7 of us hit all three peaks on the way to Pallett Mountain, then completing a 23-mile, 12-hour, 6,500' gain loop through Devil's Chair and up the South Fork Trail back to Islip Saddle.

Snowy near the top
We had a nice leisurely walk from Islip Saddle; after the USGS peak, the ridge walk to the true summit was complicated by ample snow. Warm sunny weather and beautiful views!

Islip Saddle
First of several HPS summits. Visited P8214, P8244 & P8248 to make sure I hit the correct summit. No register, but killer views.

Quickie
Parked at Islip Saddle and hiked to Points 8244 and 8248 (ignored the 8214 peak). Saw no register, tagged about 4 possible "highpoint" bumps. The views were outstanding, but the bees were everywhere.
too many times to count, i always take beginners here.

From Islip Saddle
Headed up to San Gabriel high country solo after a winter storm. Tagged the "official" summit, then continued on the ridge NW where the summit register is located up a higher bump. Kept going to where the ridge starts descending toward Pallet Mountain, then turned around. Shot beautiful rime ice plant compositions.

from islip
hiked up the trail from islip saddle. not the hardest ever but overlooks a pretty wild cliff on the east part of the trail. summit views are cool, we could see the southern sierras.
I went to the top of Williamson four or five times, but I remember the most when I went with my brother to the plane wreck. It was in the mid 80's and we hiked down to find the wreck. When we got there to our surprise there was a group of very strange folks camped out there trying to hike out the aluminum for money. My brother and I were both wierded out by this group, we think they might have been junkies from the city. We did not hang around too long.
