Nice job. Only thing I think might make it even better is if you could provide more info (rates, directions) and possibly a link to the campsites. But overall, great improvements. Nice page.
14Feb2003: Looks nice. How about an overview of routes on the mountain? Doesn't have to be hugely detailed; just describe the topography and climbability from various directions.
Need some route info. To the person who will probably adopt this page: please reply to this msg when you add changes to this page.
Nicely-done page. When you say "There are dangerous places on the mountain where you can slip through crevasses," though, what do you mean? I'm pretty sure there are no glaciers on the peak. Do you mean openings between the talus?

The reason this statement remains, is that the person who adopted the page from Downey made no changes. You might want to reevaluate your vote.
Please check out the new page. Let me know if you think the geology overview is redundant between the Elk Range Overview and the Mount Sopris overview...
Awesome Jon, i love your geology section, very intetresting. I don't think it's redundant to the Elk Overview, in fact if you think it may be redundant then go ahead and change the Elk Overview, I wouldn't be offended at all. Later.
It's nice to see where the TH is and how much Elev. gain there is. I've always heard this is a peak that "must" be done in two days. It looks like it could be done in a long day instead. Thanks, nice page.
Jon, Sopris, the famous mountain dog, can be proud of his (her?) namesake mountain.
I had not seen the page before you adopted it, but I do like it now. Detailed in the logistical aspects as well as in the natural history.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that Mt. Sopris is rich in monzonite, a rock that takes its name from the Monzoni range, in Trentino, not far from where I used to spend my summer vacations when I was a kid.

Untitled CommentI'm a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at CU. You know a lot about geology. Is that what you do, or is it a hobby?
