Twice was nice  Sucess!

We came up from the ridge by Mt Hal, we took the wrong logging road in so we decided to go with the flow. Alot of the hike was on logging roads and a bit of a bushwhack until we found trails around the lake then up to the summit. We sat and enjoyed the views and looked over longingly at Squrehead and Curran. We were trying to do the loop that day but it was getting too late in the day so we trudged back the way we came.

Two summits to date  Sucess!

Once up the standard trail in July 2003 after 2 hours digging my mate's van out of the "tank trap" and once in early season (May, 2008) with an ACC group. Lovely views for the first trip and a whiteout for the second. In fact we missed the route to the Joan/Squarehead col and ended up climbing 60° snow almost right onto the summit.

Even the 2003 trip had it's novelty value in that we bushwhacked down the east ridge to the sub-alpine tarns rather than reversing the standard route.
