I love trees
"The clearest way into the universe is through a forest wilderness" ~ John Muir
I love trees... Be they huge or small, old or young, I love them all. Giant sequoias are my favorite but others that I love to find and photograph are the gnarly old sub-alpine trees that have struggled for decades or centuries to survive -- Bristlecone and Foxtail Pine and Sierra Juniper. I also love aspen trees in the fall. I also love dead trees that provide an intriguing silhouette against the horizon. Oh, heck, I love them all! Just call me a tree nut :p Anyway, I hope you enjoy perusing this album!

Some of my favorite tree quotes
"I frequently tramped eight or ten miles through the deepest snow to keep an appointment with a beech-tree, or a yellow birch, or an old acquaintance among the pines." ~ Henry David Thoreau
"God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods. But he cannot save them from fools." ~ John Muir
"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit." ~ Robert Louis Stevenson
"Man has created some lovely dwellings, some soul-stirring literature. He has done much to alleviate physical pain. But he has not ... created a substitute for a sunset, a grove of pines, the music of the winds, the dank smell of the deep forest, or the shy beauty of a wildflower." ~ Harvey Broome
"Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money." ~ Cree Indian Proverb
"Between every two pines is a doorway to a new world." ~ John Muir
