North and Middle Chiwaukum February 2010

Page Type Page Type: Album

February 28, 2010

5500 feet of vertical gain is a large undertaking for February, especially when snowshoes are involved. After several hours in the trees we reached the upper meadows and ridge line. Avoiding avalanche danger on the leeward slope of North Chiwaukum, we followed the top of the west ridge over the summit (7132 feet). We passed several trees covered in rime frost in the saddle. Eventually we reached the dramatic east ridge of North Chiwaukum and then the 7423 foot summit.

Re: Spectacular!

Thanks Eric. The light was really cooperating with us on this trip. I actually don't know very much about cameras but every once in awhile I get lucky. Cheers, Adam

Parents

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
